Welcome and Regrets
John Coles, President welcomed those present, to the 22nd championships of the International Curling Fellowship of Rotarians and the biennial meeting of the Fellowship.
The minutes of the April 5, 2012 Laurel, Maryland, USA meeting were circulated and approved on the motion of Mark Curtis Seconded by Rich Lepping. Carried. It was noted that Alay Milne and Jim Jones attended that meeting but were not recorded. Matters arising from Minutes. There were no matters arising from the minutes
Presidents Report
President John Coles thanked the Directors for their service and assistance, Harold Shantz for his 12 years of service as a Director and Secretary Treasurer of the Fellowship and finally the Host Committee that organized a fabulous week in Aberdeen.
President John noted the names of those friends that are deceased.
Secretary Treasurer’s Report
Canadian Director Bill Hughes presented the report of Harold Shantz, Secretary Treasurer noting the following items:
* Letter of appreciation to the Rotarians of Laurel Maryland, USA, the
Potomac Curling Club and the National Capital Curling Centre.
* Rotary International are kept informed
* The Website is up to date and functioning well
* The deaths of Rolf Mackeen, Dr. Bill Rotton, Dave Butler, Don White and Susan Curtis
The financial statement showing a balance of $2,248.66 as of March 14, 2014
There is a $100.00 receivable. Website Funds: 757.59, General Fund1,491.07.
It was moved by Bill Hughes, seconded by Rich Lepping, that the Secretary Treasurer’s report including the financial statement be accepted. Carried
Report from the Aberdeen Hosting Committee
John Bremner as Chair spoke on behalf of the Rotary Club of St. Fittick and the Organizing Committee. He noted that everything had gone well after the hotel space was sorted out. He thanked the area Rotary Clubs and his Committee for a job well done.
Discussion of the Biennial Championship of ICurFR There was much discussion but no motions passed. The following were noted.
* There will be no change in the current method of qualifying teams
* There was no interest in having champions back automatically
President John’s presentation of a draw for the Friendship teams, if 16 applied was accepted. A modification could be used if fewer teams applied. The host committee will have the right to decide the format depending on their ice availability. A resolution will be in the minutes of the Directors meeting.
As per the constitution only Rotarians can compete. Interact members would not be allowed.
Future Venues
2016 To be held in Grande Prairie Alberta Canada
2018 To be held at the Hamilton Curling Facility and hosted by the Glasgow area Rotary Clubs
2020 Tentatively scheduled for Madison or Rice Lake Wisconsin USA.
It was moved by Grant Findlay, seconded by George Delgaty that the Glasgow and District Rotary Clubs be the host for the 2018 Championships.

Rolf McKeen Fellowship Award
President John reported that the Rolf McKeen Fellowship Award would be presented to Harold Shantz, recognizing his 14 years’ service as Secretary Treasurer, which included 12 years as a Director of the Fellowship.
Appreciation to Scotland Hosts.
President John again expressed the appreciation of the Fellowship to the hosts from Aberdeen for their excellent work.
Other Business
After discussion about the cost of shipping trophies it was agreed that the Secretary Treasurer can pay the cost upon receipt of documentation if someone wishes to be reimbursed.
Adjournment
